Real-time Monitoring of Landfill Gas Using Remote Monitoring Technology

 Objective

Landfill gas monitors have evolved over the years but are still relatively expensive. Landfill gas monitors need to be less expensive and more convenient to use. Improving the economics of Landfill Gas to Energy Projects through wellhead monitoring and control could potentially increase their use, which would provide “GREEN” energy from a waste steam as well as economic development and revenue to local municipalities. In addition, data collected with such systems would provide insight into the spatial and temporal variations of landfill gas production and gas storage capability of landfills.
